Trevor’s story
“I’m very grateful for the support of the Masonic Charitable Foundation – they’ve helped me on a few occasions when I couldn’t support myself financially.
I had both a hernia and a tumour around my hip, which meant that I couldn’t move or walk without pain. My right hip had completely worn out which made it difficult to drive. I felt trapped inside my home and I ended up losing half of my body weight. I was in such a bad place and faced a couple of years’ wait to have my hip operated on, which was a very scary prospect.
I spoke to someone in my lodge who suggested I contact the MCF. A Visiting Volunteer came round to help me with the MCF application forms for support – it was so easy and simple! The MCF paid for my operation to remove the hernia and tumour and now I can finally walk without pain! Some things are still a little out of reach, but my day-to-day living is so much better than it was. I’m truly very grateful for what the charity has done for me.”
