I’ve been a freemason now for nine years. When we moved into our house, I found out our neighbour was a freemason – we went to several social functions with them, and my interest peaked, so I became a freemason myself. My role in the Leicestershire & Rutland 2022 Festival is being part of the committee. I’ve been involved in lots of events raising money for the MCF and for the festival. Last year we cycled 300 miles around the province, down to London and back again.
In total we raised just over £21,000! In March next year, we’ll be repeating our successful sportsman’s dinner event, and Phil Tufnell is going to be our guest speaker! I support the MCF because I believe it’s the best and most efficient way to provide support to others. What I enjoy most about raising money for the MCF is the taking part and knowing that we’ve done something good for those that need it. It’s a feeling you can’t beat.”
