We work hard to ensure that we spend these donations as efficiently and effectively as possible.
For every pound spent, fifty-four pence was paid out in grants and support services to our masonic beneficiaries and thirty-one pence to other charities. Just seven pence per pound is spent on the administration required to enable us to deliver our charitable mission.

The masonic community raises funds for the MCF during five-year ‘festival appeals’ – something that is unique to freemasonry. The MCF provides support, guidance and practical help for provinces and their fundraisers.
We’ve followed five provinces as they’ve launched, run and completed their festivals to shine a spotlight on the hardwork and dedication that goes into each and every festival appeal. Watch our teaser trailer to find out more!
Our fundraising team attends provincial festival committee and planning meetings and delivers presentations and talks to all provinces that are ‘in festival’. The MCF also provides a range of fundraising and festival materials such as booklets, display equipment and merchandise.

“It was a busy year for the fundraising team during which we consolidated and improved our services not only in terms of Festival Appeals but also by way of general advice and support for all of our fundraisers. My appointment as Fundraising Support Officer in September has enabled us to substantially increase the amount of support we have been able to provide. I love interacting with our fundraisers; it’s very rewarding actually going out there and meeting people. They’re always so enthusiastic – maybe because I’m so enthusiastic about it!”
“During the year there have been five festival appeal launches at a total of eight separate events ranging from black tie dinners to charity presentation evenings, and four finale events in provinces celebrating the successful culmination of their festival appeals. In addition we have attended over 55 festival related meetings, events and presentations.
In terms of other fundraising support, the Charity Stewards Handbook Working Group was reconvened and, after a thorough overhaul, this document was relaunched as a much more user friendly Charity Stewards Guide at the very successful two day Metropolitan Grand Charity Steward and Provincial Grand Charity Stewards Conference held in York in November.
Work also started on the database and administrative process for the MCF Permanent Honorifics programme which will acknowledge and recognise the generosity of our donors because without you the MCF would simply not exist. We really can’t thank you all enough!”
