Our work helps families and charities in every community across England and Wales.
In Freemasonry, England and Wales is divided into 47 ‘provinces’ and London, and we support families and charities in each of these areas.
As well as funding everything we do, local Freemasons and their family members play vital roles in the delivery of our work. For families, our well-trained cohort of Visiting Volunteers helps to streamline the application process by, as their name suggests, visiting applicants at home and helping them complete the necessary paperwork. Freemasons also help us to identify charitable projects in need of funding, and often take the opportunity to build long-term relationships with charities we support by volunteering time and expertise.

The MCF is just one aspect of Freemasonry’s philanthropic work. Across 2018/19, charitable giving at lodge and provincial level totalled £45M, including the £18M awarded through the MCF. Freemasons also undertook five million hours of volunteering across the same period.
